Life is good but if we eliminate the negative aspects from our life it will get better. There will be no more free time serving in a leadership capacity in one professional organization. This is the first step in a few changes that I am making in my life.

From the NY Times today:

"M. Cherif Bassiouni, an Egyptian-born international lawyer who is an authority on the Arab legal world, said he believed that the United States was interested in orchestrating a wide-ranging Nuremberg-style war crimes trial against Mr. Hussein. "The administration is looking to have a political vindication of why the U.S. went into Iraq," he said. "With no weapons of mass destruction to be found, the next best thing is to show how bad Saddam was, how his regime was like the Nazis'.""

Seems to me that if the US Government helped prop up the Iraq government to fight a war against Iran, then the US Government also should share responsibility.

It also seems like something is wrong with the notion that a government can be overthrown by the US, and the head of that government be held accountable for doing 'bad things' against it's own people.

This smells like election year politics.
